Back in the day, the Yamaha G2 was one of the best-selling grand pianos in the world. This example was completely built in Japan in 1989 to full USA specifications and is NOT a “gray market” piano like all of the rest of them out there (a huge difference, trust us on this). It has just come back from our shop where it received a full voicing, regulating and concert level tuning from one of the area’s top Yamaha technicians. The attention to detail in the regulation process that is essential to a grand piano's superior tone was given special emphasis in this instrument. Countless hours have been spent matching the hammers to the strings, checking pedal and damper regulation with the final goal of rendering each and every note faithful to the intentions of the pianist. Ideal for the serious player or more advanced performer on a budget, it packs a whole lot of power and muscle into a relatively affordable package. It is hard to find one in this kind of condition and it almost begs to be played. Thoroughly detailed inside and out, the brass gleams, the finish glows and the inside is spotless. Finished in ebony polish, it also has the hard to find original factory padded top duet bench. Even the original brochure, keys, cleaning mitt and felt key cover all in unused condition are present and accounted for, how cool is that? Remember that at 5’ 7” it is big so don’t try and put it in a small area but give it some room to breathe and look out!
All Orpheus Music Group pianos receive a great deal of care and attention during the preparation process managed by three separate teams of specialists to ensure each piano looks and sounds its best before it is offered for sale. Each team treats the instruments as if it were coming into their own home! For more details, check out our piano preparation process.
